Is it about health or is it about control? We are all Albertans trying to create the best life possible in this incredible corner of creation. Above all, let’s not facilitate their strategy of divisiveness by putting ourselves into camps of pro-this or anti-that. Let’s not allow them to get away with it. They have chosen the role of a “poor us” province to justify their inability to find solutions to the unquestioned challenges we face. What a poor excuse for government policy. Their mantra now is: We only want our “fair share”, as if someone else is preventing us from obtaining what is rightly ours. This culture of conflict makes one wonder: What has happened to our democracy? What has happened to the heart and soul of our country, which for years inspired us to work together to build a nation where we all shouldered our responsibilities and we all shared in the benefits of our joint efforts? Are we now reduced to gangs of rivals bickering for the fruits of our labours? Even our putative leaders have abdicated their roles and instead of accepting blame for their failure to govern equitably and with vision, they have tried to distract us by blaming others.
